Seekonk Police search for suspect in attempted armed robbery

Seekonk Police are searching for the suspect in an attempted armed robbery Saturday night.

Victims in the parking lot of Raymour & Flanigan on Highland Avenue told police that as they were attending to their child in their car, a suspect knocked on the window, pointed a gun at the male victim, and demanded money. The female victim handed the suspect a diaper bag and her cell phone.

Police say that upon realizing that the couple did not have store money, the suspect stormed into the building and began yelling for money. The suspect then assaulted two more customers and an employee with the gun. One customer was pushed to the ground, but no one was injured. No money was attained by the victim.

The suspect is described as a black male wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt, white gloves, and something white wrapped around his face. He looked to be about six feet tall.

Police also say the suspect was reported to enter a waiting car, which was described as being dark in color and possibly a hatchback.
