Three arrested for catalytic converter thefts

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)- Three people were arrested on March 12 for stealing catalytic converters from Rhode Island Truck Center.
East Providence Police responded to reports of a larceny at 2 a.m. after multiple people entered the gated facility to steal the parts from vehicles.
Police began a pursuit with a silver Mazda that left the parking lot with three masked men.
The vehicle pursuit ended on Route 146 by the Smithfield Avenue exit, but a foot chase began from there.
All three suspects were apprehended and taken into custody by Rhode Island State Police.
Police obtained 14 catalytic converters.
The following individuals were arrested and charged with multiple offensives,
Jose Vazquez, 27, of Chicopee, Mass is charged with:
- 6 counts of larceny over $1,500
- 6 counts injuring or tampering with vehicles
- Eluding an officer/high speed pursuit
- Obstructing an officer in execution of duty
- Conspiracy
Nathaniel Vazquez, 26, of Springfield, Massachusetts is charged with:
- 6 counts of larceny over $1,500
- 6 counts injuring or tampering with vehicles
- Conspiracy
Roberto Jourdan, 24, of Springfield, Massachusetts is charged with:
- 6 counts larceny over $1,500
- 6 counts injuring or tampering with vehicles
- Conspiracy
