Suspect in fatal DUI crash faces additional charges

EXETER, R.I. (WLNE)- A man involved in a fatal DUI crash saw his charges be upgraded in court on Tuesday.

State police charged Alexander Krajewski, 30, with driving drunk in February and causing a head-on crash that sent two teenagers to the hospital.

Matthew Dennison, captain of the West Warwick-Exeter-West Greenwich hockey team, passed away on Thursday from injuries sustained in the crash.

In February, Krajewski was charged with the following:

  • Two counts of driving to endanger, resulting in personal injury
  • Two counts of driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs, resulting in serious bodily injury

After Tuesday’s court hearing, Krajewski faces the following charges:

  • One count of driving to endanger, death resulting
  • One count of driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and drugs, death resulting
  • One count of driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor and drugs, serious injury resulting
  • One count of driving to endanger, personal, resulting in personal injury
