The number of people needing help to heat their homes this winter is skyrocketing. The Attleboro energy fund is seeing double the amount of people from last year.
Since December, Southern New England has experienced 26 days where the temperature did not get above freezing. 15 of those days were in February alone and this month is on tap to be the second closest February.
The organization is a non–profit and depends on donations. They haven’t had to turn people away yet, but they say it could very well happen. Another big blow? Electric customers in Massachusetts got a 37–percent increase from national grid just as the heating season started…
