Providence PD calls for press conference on ongoing investigations

Providence Police Department has announced a press conference Thursday afternoon to discuss several significant ongoing joint law enforcement investigations.

Joined by Mayor Jorge Elorza and federal and state prosecutors and law enforcement, the police department plans to discuss their investigations targeting firearms and drugs trafficking in the city of Providence.

Those expected to attend include United States Attorney Peter F. Neronha; Rhode Island Attorney General Peter F. Kilmartin; Michael Ferguson, Acting Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration’s New England Field Division; Daniel J. Kumor, Special Agent in Charge of the Boston Field Division of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives; and Vincent B. Lisi, Special Agent in Charge of the Boston Field Office of the FBI.

The press conference will be held at 1:00 pm at the Providence Public Safety Complex.
