RI Health Director Dr. Fine resigns

The Director of the Rhode Island Department of Health has resigned from his position, the governors office announced Wednesday.
Dr. Michael Fine delivered his letter of resignation to Gov. Raimondo Tuesday afternoon saying he has decided to explore new opportunities.
“As Dr. Fine stated in his letter of resignation, he has spent ‘every fiber of his being’ protecting the health and safety of all Rhode Islanders over the past four years. I am incredibly thankful to him for this dedicated service to our state,” said Raimondo in a release.
Dr. Fine’s resignation will become effective March 27th and he will help facilitate a smooth transition.
