12th anniversary of the Station Nightclub Fire

Twelve years ago today pyrotechnics for the band that night set fire to the club, claiming the lives of 100 people and injuring over 200.

Efforts to establish a memorial in honor of those lost are in the works.
A memorial service was planned for last week but has been postponed due to winter weather. Gina Russo, president of the Station Fire Memorial Foundation, has yet to reschedule a date.
