Missing Taunton woman found safe in Canton

TAUNTON, Mass. (WLNE)- The woman who was reported missing in Taunton on Friday evening was found safely late on Saturday night.

Police said that 53-year-old Maria Goncalves Pereira was found in Canton just after 11 p.m.

Pereira, who police said suffers from cognitive impairments that impede her ability to find her way home, was first reported missing at 7 p.m. on Friday.

The Taunton Police Department thanked everyone who took the time to share that she was missing.
