A 19-year-old Rhode Island man has died after an electrical shock from utility wires while hiking in New York.

Hyde Park Police say that Noah Black, of Portsmouth, was hiking with three other people on the Franklin D. Roosevelt estate on Saturday when he came into contact with low hanging wires.

Responders were able to reach Black after traveling more than half a mile. They administered CPR before taking him to MidHudson Regional Hospital where he later died.

Black was a sophomore at the Culinary Institute of America in New York.

Police say the cause of death is still pending and believe that there was no foul play.
