PROVIDENCE – Pandemonium at many area grocery stores Sunday, as folks rushed to stock up on essentials, like bread and milk, before the snow starts to fall.
“We are preparing to not leave the house for a few days should the need arise,” said Rebecca Blum of Providence.
Also high on shopping lists: things like shovels and rock salt. Some local stores carried extra in stock, anticipating the rush.
“We got a lot of extra [salt] at the store for backup,” explained Richard Cartwright of Providence. “We’re good for a week,” added his wife, Doris.
Items like flashlights and batteries are also handy if there are power outages.
