Woman arrested for DUI after hitting police cruiser

Police say 33-year-old Amy Drumm was driving on Crescent Avenue, where she lives, just before 2 a.m. Saturday.
An officer tried avoiding Drumm once he spotted her driving towards him from the opposite direction, but it was too late and his cruiser was struck.
Drumm failed a field sobriety test and was taken into custody. She was charged with DUI and refusal to submit a chemical test. She will appear in Third District Court in
The officer has only minor injuries and Drumm was not injured.
This is the third marked Cranston Police cruiser to be struck by an alleged drunk driver in the past few months.
