PROVIDENCE – It has been a busy 24 hours for plow drivers, and even though the snow is stopping, the work is really just beginning.
Providence saw two to three inches of snow an hour at the height of the storm Tuesday morning. Plow crews worked in the thick of it all, in low visibility and high winds.
Snowblowers and folks shoveling had a tricky time too, when all of their hard work would get whitewashed again soon after.
“It’s a challenge,” explained Pedro Mojica, who helped shovel the sidewalks outside the Regency Plaza. “You’ve got to keep up with it and knock off the inches as they fall.”
Adam Seaberg, a plow driver working for K. Scott Construction, had the same opinion Tuesday afternoon. “The roads are just terrible,” he said. “It’s hard to keep up with. It’s coming down too fast.”
Even when the snow stops, plow crews in Providence will still be busy clearing the rest of it.
