Two juveniles arrested on weapons charges

FALL RIVER, Mass. (WLNE) — Fall River police arrested two juveniles accused of disrupting traffic and pointing a gun at officers.
Police responded to the area of South Main and Birch streets at about 11 p.m. Wednesday, when they saw the two trying to draw the attention of passing cars.
Capt. Barden Castro said that when detectives drove by the suspects in an unmarked car, the two boys allegedly pointed their gun at them.
When additional police help arrived on scene, the two fled on foot, Castro said.
Police said one of the of the boys was arrested in the area of Birch and King streets and found to be in possession of a loaded semi-automatic handgun and knife. The second one was arrested in the backyard of a home in the area of King and Birch streets.
Castro said they found a loaded semi-automatic firearm near the area where they made the arrest. The weapons were found to be reported stolen in 2013 to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office in Texas.
Both were charged with firearm charges.
No additional information was immediately released.
