SEEKONK, Mass. (WLNE) — A cigarette caused a destructive car fire in Seekonk Thursday night.
The fire happened at about 9 p.m. on Fall River Avenue.
Police said the fire started inside the car because of a lit cigarette. The flames were quickly extinguished but left only a scorched frame of the car behind.
An ABC 6 News crew was at the scene and confirmed that the two occupants were able to escape safely.
No further information was immediately released.
