New Bedford police seize guns from juveniles
NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WLNE) — New Bedford police said Wednesday they were able to seized two guns from juveniles in the same week.
Police said they saw a car going north Monday on Cedar Street that failed to use turn signals onto Willow Street.
Officers then stopped the car and saw a juvenile in the passenger seat and a silver gun under the passenger seat with six round of ammunition inside.
That juvenile was charged with carrying a firearm without a license, carrying a firearm without a license loaded, firearm serial number defaced, and possession of ammunition without an FID card.
A day before, police said officers responded to Field Street for shots fired. They were told that three young men were in the Rural Cemetery when five gunshots went off.
Police said a juvenile was found and charged with carrying a firearm without a license, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a building, and possession of ammunition without an FID card.
