Body of late Chepachet Fire Chief escorted back home

CHEPACHET, RI (WLNE) – Members of the Chepachet Fire Department escorted the body of Chief Robert Dauphinais back home from Boston Medical Center Wednesday afternoon.
Dauphinais passed away earlier this week after succumbing to his injuries from a serious motorcycle accident back on July 7.
“The Chief did not immediately surrender to his injuries, but put up a valiant and obstinate battle to recover,” the fire department said in a Facebook post. “Despite his strong will and the best medical care, he was unable to continue the fight.”
Dauphinais served in the Chepachet Fire Department for over 30 years.
There has been a ‘gofundme’ fundraiser established for Dauphinais’ family to help with medical expenses and funeral arrangements.
