RI welcomes first female governor and other state office holders

Rhode Island will inaugurate its first female governor today at noon.

Following Raimondo’s swearing in, the other statewide office holders will take the oath of office. Dan McKee will be sworn in as Lt. Governor, Nellie Gorbea will be sworn in as Secretary of State, Seth Magaziner will be sworn in as General Treasurer, and Peter Kilmartin will be sworn in to his second term as Attorney General.
During the inauguration ceremony the Cumberland Little League will lead the Pledge of Allegiance and the 88th Army Band of the Rhode Island National Guard will perform.
Tonight at 6 p.m. there will be a special WaterFire in honor of the state office holders. Each of the officials will hold a special reception during the event. See the list below for locations.
