PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — The price of a gallon of gas in Rhode Island has trickled down by a penny.

AAA Northeast said Monday that self-serve, regular us selling in the state for an average of $2.74 per gallon, 1 cent lower than last week. Rhode Island’s price is 2 cents lower than the national average and 13 cents lower than the in-state price a year ago.

A spokeswoman says stable prices at the pump could be due to robust gasoline stocks and a recent dip in demand.

AAA found gas selling for as low as $2.62 per gallon to as high as $2.99.
