DCYF: 9-month-old West Greenwich child died of maltreatment almost two years ago

WEST GREENWICH, R.I. (WLNE) — The Department of Children, Youth and Families said Thursday a West Greenwich child died almost two years ago.

The incident happened Dec. 2, 2022.

The agency said after investigating, they learned that the 9-month-old child died of maltreatment.

DCYF said it had no previous involvement with the family.

The Office of the Child Advocate was notified of the report.

The agency said because of confidentiality laws, no further information was immediately released.
