Attleboro Police make arrest in massive marijuana bust

ATTLEBORO, Mass. (WLNE) – Police in Attleboro made an arrest Wednesday in connection with a large-scale illegal marijuana growing operation.

After a months-long investigation into a suspected marijuana operation taking place in several rented buildings on Eddy Street, Attleboro Police arrested 39-year-old Marshall Muir.

Police executed a search warrant of the rented space on Tuesday, discovering 143 marijuana plants as well as growing equipment.

Investigators said the value of the marijuana once harvested would be between $500,000 and $570,000.

During the search, investigators also discovered receipts, financial documents, and shipping labels tying the operation to Muir.

Muir was arrested Wednesday without incident after being stopped by Attleboro Police on County Street.

Police said Muir lists himself as the CEO and owner of a swim club based out of Warwick, as well as the owner of two bars and restaurants in East Greenwich.

Muir was held overnight at Attleboro Police headquarters before being arraigned Thursday in Attleboro District Court on charges of possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance and conspiracy to violate drug laws.
