RI’s highest point, Jerimoth Hill, to become state owned land

Rhode Island‘s highest point. will officially become Rhode Island’s on Wednesday when the state will assume control of Jerimoth Hill in Foster.

At 812 feet, it’s long been the state’s highest point.

Until now, brown university owned the land, which was used for star–gazing astronomy students.

The university will transfer the land at a ceremony Wednesday with Governor Chafee, who is leading the role to make in an open space for the public.
