Police identify body recovered from water in Narragansett

NARRAGNASETT, R.I. (WLNE) — Police said a body was recovered from the water in Narragansett Wednesday morning.

The body was found at the Port of Galilee near State Street at around 8:30 a.m.

Narragansett police said that the victim was identified as 64-year-old Steven Andrews of Cranston.

Investigators said that after reviewing the video cameras at the port, they are deeming the death to be accidental.

Andrews was last seen walking on the pier on Tuesday night.

Police said they are working with the Department of Environmental Management to continue investigating the incident.
