Massachusetts wrestler makes WWE TV debut
WESTPORT, Mass. (WLNE) — After 30 years of navigating his way through local professional wrestling circles, Ted Bolduc has achieved his dream. The New England native known in the ring as “Teddy Goodz,” debuted on World Wrestling Entertainment television on an April 22 edition of Friday Night Smackdown!
He took on WWE superstar Gunther.
“My check in time was like 1 o-clock, and I want to say around 3 or 4 is when the producer just casually approached me and was like, ‘Uhhh, ya. You’re wrestling Gunther tonight, is that cool?’ and I’m like, ‘Hell ya!'” Bolduc told ABC 6 News.
Bolduc, along with his cousin, owns Cojo’s Toy World in New Bedford, and said he will never forget where he came from. In fact, you can see him routinely still managing the shop in his hometown.
“The most rewarding experience in all of this was the reaction of my friends and family to see how excited and supportive they are,” he said. “People that I went to high school with messaging me saying this is so cool. 20 years later, that you’re doing this and you’re getting an opportunity and recognition, so that to me was the best part of the whole experience.”
Bolduc is back in action on June 3 at a show at The Vault Music Hall & Pub in New Bedford.
