Woman dies in hospital after being struck by a truck in East Providence

UPDATE: An East Providence woman died in the hospital after being struck by a truck on Warren Avenue early Sunday morning.
Jennifer Cabral, 38, was struck by a pickup truck while crossing Warren Avenue on foot, according to the East Providence Police Department.
Cabral was transported to Rhode Island Hospital and died several hours later because of the injuries caused by the crash.
The driver of the pickup truck stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police.
Speed and alcohol on the part of the pickup truck operator are not suspected, according to the police.

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE)- A 38-year old woman died in the hospital after being struck by a truck on Warren Avenue early Sunday morning.
East Providence police were called to the scene of the accident around 12:30 A.M at the intersection of Warren Avenue and Broadway, to find the victim, now identified as Jennifer Cabral, suffering from serious injuries.
Cabral was transported to an area hospital, where she later died.
East Providence police say the driver of the truck stayed on scene, and charges are not expected to be filed.
There is currently a growing memorial at the scene of the accident.
