Police search for inmate who escaped work detail

A search is underway for an ACI minimum security inmate who walked away from a work detail Monday afternoon.

State Police say 25–year–old Keurys Penav, also known as Michael Santana, left his work assignment at the Prison Industries Building at the ACI in Cranston around 12:50 p.m.

Pena is 5’8″, 200 pounds and last seen wearing blue jeans and a white t-shirt.

The Providence man is serving a 54 month sentence for a breaking and entering conviction.

Police say he last resided at 80 Sackett Street in Providence and in known to frequent the Providence metro area.

State Police ask anyone who has seen this man to call 911.
