Republican nominees for Attorney General, Lieutenant Governor and Governor are wasting no time.

They campaigned at a Warwick senior center the morning after the primary.

A big question now, is who public employees will back, since many oppose pension reformer Gina Raimondo.

Cranston Mayor Allan Fung says he’d welcome union support.

“And that’s what I have done in Cranston. And that’s what I’ll do at the State House. So I am welcome and open to having support from every single individual from all walks in Rhode Island. (Q: including unions?) “Every individual, from all walks in Rhode Island,” said Mayor Allan Fung, (R) Nominee for Rhode Island Governor.

Another site you will see often, is Allan Fung campaigning like a running mate with Catherine Taylor

But they deny it’s a tactic to cut into Gina Raimondo’s huge female voter base.

Rhode Island voters are really looking at people for the ideas and the experience that they bring to the table. And they are being colorblind, and they are being gender blind, and it’s very exciting,” said Catherine Taylor.

ABC6 Chief Political Reporter Mark Curtis said, “This is no longer just a battle between Republicans and Democrats. A full 50 percent of Rhode Island voters are registered as independents, and they may make the difference.”

Most independents who voted Tuesday, cast ballots for Democratic nominee Gina Raimondo.

“We had a strong message that Rhode Island is ready for a Governor who is going to get people back to work.  I have experience creating jobs,” said Gina Raimondo, (D) Nominee for RI Governor.

The Raimondo team has tons of new yards signs, campaign brochures and placards ready for the final round in the campaign for Governor.
