EXETER, R.I. (WLNE) — Gov. Dan McKee and other state leaders held a ceremony to remember fallen veterans on Memorial Day.

McKee was joined by Sens. Jack Reed and Sheldon Whitehouse, Reps. David Cicilline and Jim Langevin, Lt. Gov. Sabina Matos as well as other local leaders.

The group gathered at the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter at 1 p.m. to commemorate the men and women who died while in military service.

“I encourage all Rhode Islanders to take a moment today to remember these heroes,” said the governor in a tweet.
