Michael Soloman announces candidacy for mayor

Providence City Council President Michael Solomon formally launched his campaign for mayor Wednesday morning.

The centerpiece of the 56-year-old’s platform is to invest $250 million dollars to renovate the city’s schools.

He will face off against Brett Smiley and Lorne Adrain in the Democratic Primary. The winner will take on Republican Daniel Harrop in the General Election.
