WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — A House committee will hold a hearing Tuesday on Warwick’s plans to add more term limits for elected officials.

The city council already discussed the term limits, and if the legislature signs off, the issue could go to voters as a ballot question in November.

The mayor would be limited to two four-year terms, and city councilors would be limited to six two-year terms.

If approved, the new policy would start in 2025.
