WORCESTER, Mass. (WLNE) – A groundbreaking ceremony will be held Thursday for the future home of the Pawtucket Red Sox.
City, state, and federal officials will meet with team leadership at 3:30 p.m. Thursday to break ground on Polar Park, the planned state of the art, 10,000 seat ballpark located in the heart of the city’s Canal District.
The PawSox signed a deal in 2018 to part ways with the city of Pawtucket and make the move to Worcester.
The park is scheduled to open in April of 2021.
