PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — A grand jury indicted a Foster man accused of setting his own home on fire over two months ago.

Rhode Island Attorney General Peter Neronha said that 62-year-old Lawrence Lopez was charged with first-degree arson.

During a court hearing on April 4, prosecutors said that on April 1, Lopez poured gas all over his home and used a propane torch to start the fire.

He’s set to be arraigned next week in Providence County Superior Court.
