Car crashes into street divider, catches fire in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police said that they responded to a crash on Chalkstone Avenue Thursday night.

A witness who lives close by said that a car hit a concrete divider, between the sidewalk and street, flipped over, and caught fire.

“I heard screeching, which I frequently hear as people are constantly taking the curve on this street at ridiculous speeds,” she said.

Police did not release any details about the crash.
