Smithfield gas station offers free gas to veterans

SMITHFIELD, R.I. (WLNE) — A gas station in Smithfield offered free gas to veterans Friday morning.

Rhode Island veterans and active military members stopped at the Sunoco on Pleasant View Avenue to fill their tanks, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Veterans were able to get up to 10 gallons at no cost.
