West Warwick man charged with breaking and entering

Derek Shippee, 25, of West Warwick, was charged with breaking and entering in two locations on Wednesday, May 28^th.

West Warwick police responded to a report of breaking and entering in a multi-family apartment building on Prospect Hill Ave.

A resident of the apartment returned home to discover it had been broken into. Cash and property were reported missing by the resident.

Detectives investigated the scene and developed Shippee as a suspect.

Further investigation revealed Shippee had also broken into Astonishing Looks Hair Salon on Providence Street just a few days earlier.

He is charged with 1 count of breaking and entering into a dwelling house and 1 count of breaking and entering into the salon.

Shippee was arranged in 3^rd Division District Court in Warwick on May 29^th, receiving $20,000 surety bail.
