East Providence seeks developer to build affordable housing units

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — The city of East Providence is looking for a developer to buy and build affordable homes on three parcels in the city.

The three parcels are currently owned by the city and each are 10,000 square-foot parcels.

The city is looking for a developer to build multi-family homes on the properties.

“The sale of these three lots and the construction of these affordable homes will provide safe, secure affordable housing opportunities for families who are seeking to live in our wonderful city,” Mayor Bob DaSilva said.

A request for qualifications is now open with those interested able to ask questions of the city planner until July 29 by contact 401-435-7531 ext. 1152 or via email at phanner@eastprovidenceri.gov.

Official RFQ submissions must contain three copies and one thumb drive and must be submitted by no later than Aug. 11 at 11 a.m.
