JOHNSTON, R.I. (WLNE) — A veterinarian is no longer employed at a Johnston pet hospital, after a number of concerns surfaced from her past.

The public relations manager at Banfield Pet Hospital, Liz Morales, told ABC 6 News Thursday that Dr. Janine Oliver “is no longer employed at Banfield.”

ABC 6 first brought you the story in late June, after The Rhode Island Department of Health announced the veterinarian was under investigation.

Before working in Rhode Island, Oliver was licensed in North Carolina, where she owned her own practice in Greenboro called Benessere Animal Hospital.

A former employee of Oliver told ABC 6 that she is “a wolf in sheep’s clothing.”

A spokesperson for the Department of Health said she filed for an application for license in Rhode Island in early November, before she surrendered her North Carolina license.

Oliver surrendered her license in the midst of when a petition circulated online calling for her removal, after many brought their concerns about the vet online. It now has over 8,000 signatures.

It’s unclear if the matter is still under investigation.
