CLARKSBURG, W. VA (WLNE) — A federal prosecutor out of West Virginia said Thursday that three men have been charged in connection to the death of James “Whitey” Bulger.

The prosecutor said 55-year-old Fotios Geas, 48-year-old Paul DeCologero, and Sean McKinnon, 36, were all charged Wednesday with conspiracy to commit first degree murder.

Geas and DeCologero are accused of beating Bulger in the head multiple times causing his death in October 2018 while in a West Virginia prison.

Geas and DeCologero are charged with aiding and abetting first degree murder, along with assault resulting in serious bodily injury. Geas is also facing a separate murder charge.

McKinnon was on parole at the time of the indictment and was arrested in Florida Thursday.

Bulger was 89 years old when he died. He is a known gang member that was found guilty for multiple murders, racketeering, money laundering charges and more.
