Police investigate deadly hit and run in Providence

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Providence police are investigating a deadly hit and run that happened just after 11 p.m. Thursday.

According to police, they responded to the area of Broad Street for reports of a pedestrian hit by a vehicle.

When they arrived a victim was in the roadway and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police said the vehicle did not stay at the scene. Police have identified a red pickup truck as a vehicle of interest.

The investigation is ongoing.
