Warwick police urge residents to check cameras in search for break-in suspects

WARWICK, R.I. (WLNE) — Warwick police are searching for the culprit of some recent car break-ins in the city.

Police said that the break-ins happened between midnight and 4 a.m. on Aug. 26, and between midnight and 5 a.m. on Aug. 29.

Two cars were stolen, and have since been recovered from Connecticut.

Maj. Andrew Sullivan told ABC 6 News that thieves targeted unlocked cars. The two that were stole were both push-to-start and had they key fobs inside.

The department is asking residents in that area to check their home surveillance systems for any suspicious people or vehicles.

In the meantime, they are reminding everyone to remove any valuables from their vehicles and to lock their doors.
