Cumberland chiropractor charged with sexual assault, voluntarily surrenders license

CUMBERLAND, R.I. (WLNE) — A Cumberland chiropractor accused of touching a patient inappropriately has now agreed to license suspension.
Dr. Thomas Sowa was charged with three counts of second-degree sexual assault, relating back to several incidents back in June.
According to documents from the Rhode Island Department of Health, Sowa allegedly required a patient to fully undress and then performed a full body massage, including areas that were not clinically appropriate.
Sowa worked at his own practice on Nate Whipple Highway, according the Department of Health.
By voluntarily surrendering his license, Sow is not confirming or denying the allegations against him.
