Bear scare causes Cranston middle school to go on lockdown

CRANSTON, R.I. (WLNE) – A local middle school was placed on lockdown when a black bear was spotted outside the building, walking on school grounds.
The Cranston Public School Superintendent’s office said that the school went on lockdown before 9:00 a.m Monday morning.
The office also said no students or faculty members were injured, the school was shut down as a safety precaution.
At last check, the bear was seen moving west.
