PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) – Whole Foods Market locations across the Northeast have issued a voluntary recall of several pesto products due to possible undeclared milk and tree nut contents.
Whole Foods Market has recalled their specialty made-in-house basil pesto and specialty made-in-house sundried tomato pesto due to the products potentially containing undeclared milk, walnuts and pine nuts.
People with allergies or sensitivities to these ingredients risk serious or life-threatening allergic reactions if they consume the recalled products.
The pesto products were available in individual clear plastic containers and on antipasti bars, sold between May 17 and June 4 at stores in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.
The affected products feature PLU codes beginning with either 255926 or 256009 and sell-by dates ranging between June 7 and June 26.
Customers who purchased affected products can receive a full refund with a valid receipt. Anyone with additional questions can call 1-844-936-8255.
