PLAINVILLE, Mass. (WLNE) — A man was killed after being struck by an SUV on the highway in Plainville early Saturday morning.
According to Massachusetts State Police, they responded to calls just after 5 a.m. of a pedestrian down on the of Route 495 northbound, just north of exit 36B in Plainville.
The 41-year-old man, from Halifax, was pronounced dead at the scene.
A preliminary investigation showed that the man was walking north in the northbound lanes when he was hit by a Volvo SUV, state police said. The driver of the Volvo was not injured.
A short distance from where the crash happened, troopers found a car that was registered to the man in the breakdown lane.
