Lincoln Police searching for suspect who fled traffic stop

LINCOLN, R.I. (WLNE) – Police in Lincoln are seeking to locate a man wanted on multiple charges after fleeing from a traffic stop.
A Lincoln Police officer working a “Click it or Ticket” seatbelt detail pulled over a white Chevrolet SUV around 10:00 a.m. Friday.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 29-year-old Jefferey Joergensen, of Chepachet, fled the scene and ran into the woods after the officer returned to his vehicle to run a check on Joergensen.
Lincoln Police, assisted by Rhode Island State Police K-9 units, searched the area for several hours but were unable to locate the suspect.
Joergensen is wanted driving with a suspended license, obstruction of justice, and possibly other charges pending further investigation.
Police said Joergensen is also in violation of bail from a previous arrest.
Joergensen is described as a white male, standing approximately 6’ tall and weighing 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray shirt, jeans, and a black hat.
