PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE)— Just about everyone has taken a selfie but are yours good enough to include on say, your Christmas card? The folks at ‘Selfie Stop’ want the answer to be yes!

“I’ve seen photos I never would have dreamed of— different angles, different poses. It’s just amazing what people do,” said Bill Durham, Business manager for the shop inside the Providence Place Mall.

You bring the camera— or smart phone— and they provide everything else. The space is decked out for the holidays. There’s a traditional room with a couch, tree and fireplace. But what fun would just one background be? Other options include a winter wonderland you don’t have to bundle up to visit, Santa’s sleigh or a giant wreathe that frames the whole family. And for the kids or those with a young spirit, why not try out the candy cane ball pit which has become a favorite spot for many.

So just who’s behind this unique experience? It’s the brain child of producer Joel Thayer. He’s a college professor with a background in theater.

“We call it an interactive museum so everything is created so you can touch everything,” he explained.

And because the images are taken on your personal device, you get to keep the art you create.

“It’s like the person puts themselves as the lead of the show. If you’re taking a selfie you’re actually in the script,” he said.

With all the decorations, professional lighting and unlimited angles you should be in good shape. But if you still need a little help with your selfie game the staff is there to make sure you get the perfect shot!

“They’re going to have a great time. And we’re going to make sure of it. They’re going to be surprised,” said Durham.

The Good Morning Providence Moms took their little one’s earlier this week in the hopes of getting something to send to our family and friends. The results were dreamy. Our cards never looked better and now yours can too.
