State police looking for driver involved in a hit and run

PROVIDENCE, R.I (WLNE) – Rhode Island State Police are looking for a driver who was allegedly involved in a hit and run early Sunday morning. 

Police say they responded to a two-vehicle accident on Route 6 East in Providence around 12:30 a.m in the high speed lane on Sunday, May 19, 2019. 

According to police, a third vehicle, also traveling in he high speed lane did not stop in time before they ran into one of the vehicles, which then hit a woman who was standing outside the accident. 

The driver took off, police say.

The woman was transported to and released from Rhode Island Hospital.
