It was a ride Jim Hunnicutt had taken every day for two years, a short bike ride on his lunch break on the William C. O’Neill bike path in South Kingstown.

But on April 21st 2010, if you want to get technical, it was 10:16 a.m., that ride would change his life forever.

About three miles down the path something got lodged in his tire and flew off his bike, hurting his arm.

Hunnicutt bleeding profusely his bones protruding from his arm with no one in sight until two women appeared out of nowhere.

If it weren’t for them, I probably wouldn’t be here today.

The women told him they were nurses and they were able to stop his bleeding with makeshift bungee cords.

They then called for help, but after the ambulance took Hunnicutt away, he never saw or heard from the again.

“They came out of nowhere and vanished out of nowhere,” he said.

For the past 9 years he’s hasn’t slowed down his search to find them turning to social media, local newspapers and now TV, and he’ll continue doing anything he can to thank the women who he calls his angels.

Hug them, thank them take them out to dinner maybe even kiss their feet!
