Sea of white snow making plow drivers plenty of green
The first major snowstorm of the year might be an annoyance for many, but for independent plow drivers, seeing this much snow means a big payday.
“I've been seeing green since I saw it in the forecast at the beginning of the week.” said Scott Bedard, the owner operator of Scotty B's Lawn Service and Plowing.
Bedard has owned his own plowing business for the last 3-years, and having to wait till the end of December to see a storm like this, hasn't been easy.
“It's been real stressful. You know especially with the economy and everything. Like I said, it's good to see it.” said Bedard.
The snow is a sight that Bedard and his fellow independent plow drivers will be seeing a lot of as they work through the storm, to clear parking lots for both businesses and homes.
“It's gonna be all night and probably a good bit into tomorrow, you know probably till tomorrow afternoon.” said Bedard.
Although the work won't be easy, Bedard is glad to finally see some cash coming in, this winter.
“I love it. You know its great. Past couple of years haven't really been that great and this is a big percentage of my winter income.”
Bedard says that he'd be happy having a storm like this every week, to make up for a snow plowing season that's been less than stellar, so far.
