UPDATE: Victim identified in fatal Taunton motorcycle crash

TAUNTON, MASS (WLNE) – Police have identified the victim in a fatal motorcycle accident in Taunton Saturday.
According to the police department, officers responded to School Street for a reported accident at 7:45 p.m on Saturday.
Police say the motorcyclist, identified as a 24-year-old Brendon DaRosa of Taunton, was traveling south on School street at a high rate of speed when he tried to pass a MINI Cooper, operated by an 18-year-old female.
According to Police, the crash happened when DaRosa attempted to pass the MINI Cooper on its left hand side while the driver of the car attempted to make a left turn.
DaRosa was transported to Morton Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
The 18-year-old was evaluated on scene, but did not suffer any known injuries.
The crash remains under investigation at this time.
