Two Dartmouth polcie officers exposed to Fentanyl

DARTMOUTH, MASS (WLNE) – Two Dartmouth police officers were transported to St. Luke’s Hospital after a Fentanyl exposure on Saturday.
According to the police, while negotiating an arrest associated with a traffic stop on State Road, both officers were exposed to Fentanyl, which was secreted inside both the vehicle, and the suspects wallet.
As a result of the exposure, the officers were sent to St. Luke’s Hospital where they were evaluated and released.
Jared Barbosa, a 29-year-old of Fall River, was the operator of the vehicle. He was arrested on two outstanding warrants, both of which were drug related.
Additional charges associated with the Fentanyl are pending at this time.
